“The Awakening of the Gods” returns to the Valley of the Temples
Starting July 27, 2025, sunrise at the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento will once again shine with words, emotions, and eternal memories with the return of "Albe," the evocative cycle of mythological narratives produced by Parco Valle dei Templi and Savatteri Produzioni using a now-famous formula. Along the Via Sacra, between the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Juno, the public will be guided on a journey through the myths of the past.
The actors in costume, performing, dancing, and singing, amidst the dawning light and the vestiges of antiquity, will give voice to the stories of gods and heroes, evoking a suspended time where legends intertwine with contemporary reality, addressing timeless themes such as love, hate, and war. The age-old myths will resonate with renewed force: the show, in fact, is not always the same, but is subject to modifications and additions with each new performance.
This year's cast will also include several American actors selected by Savatteri himself as part of a project with Montclair State University, curated by Professor Teresa Fiore. This theatrical, poetic, and civic journey, capable of touching deep chords and questioning our times through the immortal voice of classical antiquity, features five performances: July 27 (4:30 p.m.) and August 3, 24, 29, and 31 (5:00 a.m.).
In all cases, access will be through the Giunone box office. Tickets are available at the Agrigento Box Office, Via Imera 27, by phone at 0922 20500, or at www.agrigento-biglietti.com
